I actually haven't seen any of these. I've been meaning to check out paths of glory for a long long time since I'm such a Kubrick fan.
I can do amazing things when I'm bored at work.

Yeah, there were several movies like Goodfellas and Natural Born Killers that I saw a long time ago and recall enjoying but I just couldn't remember them well enough to know where to include them. I decided just to exclude them rather than try to discern how much I liked them.
There are also a slew of movies like The Usual Suspects, The Doors, and JFK that I saw but was too drunk to really follow them.
I'm not a big fan of caddyshack (please forgive me) and Holy Grail was pretty good.

you have to drop what you're doing and go rent Coal Miners Daughter and Daddy and Them. Coal Miners Daughter is Loretta Lynn's story - lots of funny and touching southern appalachian color. Daddy and Them is a Billy Bob Thornton written and directed film that never made it to the big screen. Billy Bob had a falling out with the production company because of some things that were cut from All the Pretty Horses. Andy Griffith plays his dad, John Prine his brother, Jim Varney his uncle who is in jail. Not much plot, but worth checking out. You can rent it at Blockbluster or some other similar place. I'm slowly becoming a fan of your blogspot. I'm waiting for top 100 albums, live shows, or similar music rankings. you and amy and the pups are well.
take good care, travis

You had some "just out" movies that I was very surprised to see on your list. Mr/Mrs Smith (or did you mean the old one), 40 year old virgin, and more. I know you get 200 spots but come on.
All in all I liked most of these. I suppose if I chose 200 I'd have some stinkers too.
You forgot:
Any/All Kurisowa films (although props for Dreams)
Harry Potter - come on you know you love them
Cloak and Dagger, the only movie I have ever rewound and watched again. Notice I say rewound, I was like 10.
Army of Darkness
Oh so many others, maybe I'll make my own list.

I think its genuinely been a very good year for movies (box office sales be damned), and we're just now entering oscar season. 40 year old virgin is destined to be a comedy classic right up there with Adam sandler movies, something about mary, deuce bigalow, dumb and dumber, etc. So, yeah it belongs, and wedding crashers was even BETTER, though A-killa disagrees.
I thought Batman Begins was the best comic book movie ever. I really liked Mr and Mrs smith--it was action packed, funny, and sexy as all get out.
I did forget Igby Goes Down, Ame. Wish you had remembered that one earlier.
We saw Thumbsucker last weekend and it is high-quality shit. Vince Vaughn, elliot smith on the soundtrack, great performance by a new kid. Good stuff. Saw History of Violence before that, and thought it was ridiculously overhyped, kind of hollow, not as powerful as I would have expected, though it did have its moments.
